Many thanks, Bill–a well-researched, well-written and poignant article that todays “younger generation” should read!
On a personal standpoint, it brought back memories. I can remember the Gas City Planing Mill (I always thought it was situated in a strange location for a lumber yard, being located on a very “desirable” street), I watched the Medicine Hat Tigers play hockey in the old arena on Fifth Avenue, and I can remember skating at Gray’s Rink. Ah, memories!
Again, a very well-written piece of history. I totally enjoy reading these. Thanks again!!
