The 3rd Canadian Mounted Rifles (3CMR) and the Mystery Surrounding the Benwell Tablet

A Chairman of the Family History Research Group of the Medicine Hat & District Genealogical Society, we receive requests from around the world requesting assistance or information regarding a relative or family member who may have had in the past a connection to Medicine Hat. Some of these enquires are very interesting and several have been an inspiration for an article, as I endeavour to document the history of my hometown. Here is one such story, which I hope you will find both interesting and informative. It is entitled, “The 3rd Canadian Mounted Rifles (3CMR) and the Mystery Surrounding the Benwell Tablet”

  1. Hi, Bill!
Wow–what a great piece of research! When I was growing up I realized there was a “connection” between my “home” parish of St. Barnabas Anglican Church and the military, but I hadn’t realized St. Barnabas had ever been involved in a situation of this nature!
    Cheers–
