On September 14th, 2026 I posted a story entitled “Leave No Stone Unturned” which chronciled the effort to identify an Australian soldier from WWI, whose remains were recently discovered in order to provide him with a proper “earthly resting place”. Through a dligent effort on my part, I was able to provide a vital link to hopefully establish his identity. The effort of the Fromelles Society of Australia in carrying out this project is truly quite amazing! Most recently, I came across an interesting video which puts in proper historical perspective of the battle of Pheasant Wood which resulted in the impromptu burial of 250 of these unknown soldiers and the effort to identify them. It provide an interesting postscipt to my story.
